PORTLAND, OREGON — Game Face Sports Career Training Camp attendee Simone Morris has been placed into an account manager sports job and Troy Forte was promoted to a group sales manager with the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. They join another Training Camp attendee, Saedra Bracy, currently on staff with the Nets.

Morris will focus primarily on season tickets and generating business for the Nets in the Brooklyn area prior to their move. “I’m really excited for this challenge and the opportunity to build a foundation for the team in New York,” said Morris. “It’s been my dream to work in the sports industry and Game Face allowed me to develop the skills and confidence necessary to be successful.” The Queens native graduated from Columbia University in December 2006 with a BA in urban studies specializing in sociology. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Office of the Provost for four years. After exploring the option of attending law school, she decided to follow her true passion and pursue a career in sports marketing.

Forte was initially placed into an inside sales role, and recently earned the promotion to work with the group sales department. “Looking back on the first few months, I’ve realized how much the training helped me jump right in as if I had been working there for a while,” said Forte. “Without going through the Training Camp the day to day challenges and expectations would have been more overwhelming.” In 2006 he graduated in sports management from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, and he marks the sixth Northwood student to attend the Training Camp and land a full time job in sports. He ran track for the school and completed two sports-related internships.

Bracy, a Dartmouth alumnus, began her career as an account executive with Maloof Sports and Entertainment. The native New Yorker was hired in the summer of 2006 by the Nets as a manager of VIP access and experience.
