Worcester Sharks of AHL Hire Game Face Training Camp Attendee

Successful Sports Job Seeker Lindsey MarrancaPORTLAND, OREGON — Game Face Sports Career Training Camp attendee Lindsey Marranca has been placed into an account executive position with the Worcester Sharks, the American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks. She will be responsible for selling, marketing, and promoting Sharks hockey in the greater Boston area.

Marranca’s passion for sports marketing originally stems from a background in athletics. She competed in gymnastics for four years at SUNY Cortland, where she was recognized as a two-time national champion and six-time All-American. She earned two bachelor’s degrees in sport management and business economics. During her final semester of school she interned with the Buffalo Bills, which cemented her desire to work for a team.

After graduation she worked for her family’s company while pursuing a full-time job in sports. It proved to be more challenging than she originally estimated. “I was having a hard time getting in front of employers, so I wanted to make myself more marketable to teams by gaining more hands-on experience at the Training Camp,” said Marranca. “The training was extremely helpful and I really did gain a great deal of confidence and knowledge through the experience. After receiving multiple job offers from teams, ultimately I accepted a position in the sport I wanted.”
