Job Description:
A professional sports organization in the Southeastern United States is seeking a positive, passionate, outgoing, aggressive, and hardworking individual interested in becoming a leader within the sports ticket sales industry. The Director of Ticket Sales will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all ticket sales efforts. The Director will be charged with planning, implementing and overseeing the execution of a strategic plan in the areas of ticket sales revenue. The successful candidate will be tasked to manage the growth of ticket sales revenue via the sales of season tickets, mini-plans, group tickets and suites sales to the local business and non-profit community.
JOB FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement and execute the overall ticket sales plan and other various ticket sales plans and initiatives
- Manage the ticket sales staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all ticket revenue goals are attained
- Manage the Ticket Operations Department
- Manage sales interns to generate ancillary ticket revenue
- Manage the Ticket Sales Department budget
- Manage the CRM program
- Develop ticket promotions
- Develop creative programs to target specific community and business organizations for season ticket and group ticket sales
- Work with colleagues from other departments within the organization to ensure that all possible revenue is generated across the various platforms
- Secure meetings with business and other local organizations
- Sell tickets and reach a designated personal sales goal
- Create and manage a referral ticket program
- Manage the creation of all ticket sales printed pieces
- Strategic planning of long-term ticket sales programs and initiatives
- Remain aware of trends in the industry and marketplace
- Develop a research plan to measure and monitor ticket buyer opinions
- Ensure a high level of customer service at all games and events
- Work games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned (i.e. answer phones, work sales booths, visit clients)
- Will also represent the team at various community events, such as festivals, youth sporting events, etc. with the responsibility of informing the community about the team, and marketing ticket sales packages and promotions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum five to seven (5-7) years of measurable and proven sales and service excellence in the area of ticket sales, group sales, premium seating and suite sales
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Ability to sell and teach others to do so
- Great teambuilding ability
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with an irregular work schedule to include nights, weekends, and some holidays
