Job Description: Major league organization in the Northeast seeks a graphic designer. Successful candidate will be responsible for the design, layout and production of all creative materials, including but not limited to printed collateral, print/web advertising, banners, logos, and Gameday magazine. They will be responsible to ensure all communication pieces reflect brand values and standards, and maintain consistent messaging. The Designer will work very closely with ad agency on all projects.
The designer will be required to follow corporate style guidelines and design concepts. The individual must be comfortable preparing artwork for press, working directly with printers, reviewing proofs and ensuring that completed materials meet the highest quality standards. They must have experience taking a project from concept to completion.
Successful candidate may also be required to perform additional supportive functions as directed by the supervisor and based upon the organization's needs. This individual will also support the marketing and sales departments in all special events including (but not limited to) game day events and grassroots marketing initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsiblities:
- Work with Agency to develop design concepts and ensure a seamless process for the production of all creative materials
- Implement approved design concepts to ensure the timely delivery of materials to the relevant departments
- Prepare artwork for press, review proofs and ensure that all materials meet the highest quality standards
- Work with printers on all stages of production, including:
-Ensuring that jobs stay within budget
-Selecting print materials and processes
-Going on press checks if necessary
- Plan, coordinate and Art Direct (in conjunction with Agency) all photoshoots
- On match days:
-Manage the shot list for the photographer
-Manage the photographer to ensure all needed images are captured and that the image quality meets standards
-Assist with additional marketing and sales activities
- Special Event and other additional duties may include:
-Acting as a support for the marketing department for all special events
-Overseeing the branding of special events
Qualifications:
- BA or equivalent in graphic design
- 3 years of relevant experience (Design and Production)
- MAC and PC literate. Must be will to work in a PC environment
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, & In-Design
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel & Lotus Notes
- HTML Knowledge - Banner/email ad creation skills preferred
- Sports/soccer experience/knowledge a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Capable of prioritizing to meet tight deadlines
- Self motivated, energetic, and a team player
